A good friend of Ruben got pregnant and didn't want to become a mother yet (at the age of 17), but she didn't really want to have an abortion either. She asked Ruben and Alastair is they maybe wanted to raise the baby. Ruben thought he was actually still kind of young to become a father, but Alastair was all for it, he really looked forward to becoming a father. Ruben agreed to adopting his friend's baby, thinking of the high costs and many years of waiting adoptions normally had and he the idea of becoming a dad had grown on him.

A 7 months after this decision little Magdalen was born. Magdalen was named after her biological mom Magda and Aurora was a name both Ruben and Alastair really liked.
