They've changed our lives and completed our family. For that, I'll be eternally grateful.Addison has had a tough time. The abuse she suffered at the hands of those who were meant to care for her has caused her to be very suspicious of everyone and makes it difficult for her to form relationships. I think it has been particularily hard seeing the strong relationship that Robbie and I have with our daughters. In comparison, her experiences are heartbreaking. However, we're working hard to let her know how much we love her and she's opening up more and more to us. She told me last week how she'd never been happier than she is now and she gave me the biggest hug. I think that being here has given her a chance to be a little girl again. Although she's had a hard time with the memories of her past and with her pregnancy, she's enjoying every moment with her new sisters. Eva, Addy, Matilda and Marina are as close as can be and have 'sleepovers' all the time were they stay up the whole night gossiping about various celebrities, their favourite bands, watching Julia Roberts movies and eating ice-cream. We feel that allowing her this opportunity to have fun has been really beneficial and she's blossoming before our very eyes. Almost the second she arrived we realised her talent for music. She'd had to leave behind her guitar when she was taken into care so we went and bought her a brand new one. She spends every free moment playing that thing and Robbie (who was once in a band - I kid you not) has been teaching her all the Beatles songs which she loves. I've never met a kid with better musical taste or knowledge! Her teachers have also been very complimentary and give her lots of praise. They say that although initially she was rather disruptive, the more settled she becomes the better behaved and more focused she becomes. She certainly is an extremely bright young woman. We've been impressed with the maturity with which she handles herself. She decided very early on that she couldn't abort her child (a decision we whole-heartedly agree with as we are strong pro-lifers) but wasn't sure whether she could handle raising the child as her own. We assured her that she didn't need to rush into any decisions and that we'd all support her in any decision she made. When she gave birth to a baby girl she decided to keep her straight away. Baby Marley Harris (she really does have great musical taste!) is an absolute gem. Tufts of black hair like her mummy and the biggest green eyes. We've all fallen under her spell and I can just tell she'll have us eating out of the palm of her hands when she's older! Marley is a very friendly baby (I suppose it comes with having such a large and varied household) and loves to be held which is lucky as we all grab a cuddle whenever we can! Her aunts all adore her and spend all their money buying her presents. I swear, Marley is nought but 4 months but she's the best dressed in the household! Lucky thing. Next is Marcos. Like Addison, Marcos hasn't found it easy belonging to a family but as he is still very young he's learning veyr quickly that we love him and that we want him to be a good little boy. He's especially taken with the idea of being a big brother to little Danny (Jordan) and makes a special effort to be a good boy and to set a good example. We encourage him in this to the utmost but have also enrolled him in a programme for children with behavioural problems. The instructor says he is coming on in leaps and bounds. To help try and solve his trust issues we spend a lot of one-on-one time with Marc, talking about his interests, going to the cinema or going rock-climbing. It's his new passion and he absolutely loves it - I do to but wish I was as flexible as he is! I'm showing my age... He also spends a lot of time hanging out at Lucas' flat. Luc adores having boys in the family (life with Eva, Matilda and Marina can't have been easy!) and loves having Marcos over for 'boys nights'. They play football and video games and eat an insane amount of pizza (I swear, the boy is a human garbage disposal - he's nearly doubled in height since he arrived!) Marcos really enjoys this bond and is really excited as Lucas is going to take him on holiday this year. They've decided to go snow-boarding as Marcos loves sports and has never seen the snow - lets hope he copes with the cold!Danny is also a sweetheart. He's such a beautiful child - inside and out (I actually was approached by a modelling agency to inquire about him! Natually, I turned them down as he's far too young). All my others have been rather 'opinionated' so it's been a pleasant surprise having a quiet child. Not that he's unsociable - quite the contrary but he likes to sit back and observe situations before jumping in. He's starting nursery school this summer but is already far ahead of his classmates. He's progressing at a very impressive rate, reading, writing simple words and even doing basic calculations. We call him our little Einstein. We renamed Nuo when she joined our family. Little Mia is doing great - she loves to be centre of attention and with four big sisters and three big brothers she has plenty! She's also particularily enamoured with our garden - perfect for running wild in. She's also found a new love - bouncing - so we've bought her a trampoline. Her energy stuns (and exhausts) us all. Again, thanks for everything you've done
