John and Catherine met in high school, when Catherine was a freshman, but never really paid one another much mind until John's senior year, when a mutual friend set them up for a blind date. To their mutual surprise, they had fun on the date and continued seeing one another. After graduating John made the decision to become a pilot in the Navy, which frightened Catherine. She eventually accepted his choice, and he agreed to take two years of college before beginning training for the Navy. By the time he actually went into service, they were both ready.
Catherine is in her fifth year of college, going for her master's degree in secondary education. She isn't sure what the future will bring, but she's confident that she and John will be fine.
