Daniel is French and i am English. We met by chance when i was studying french literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. Initially our families were unsure about the age difference but nothing could come between us and we were married in a tiny chapel in Burgundy a year to the day after we first met. We have been married for nearly a year now and our first son was born three weeks ago. We called him Jean Claude (after Daniel's father and grandfather) but we mostly call him Claude or 'C' for short. Daniel works as an actor and three days ago he broke his ankle whilst filming a sword fighting scene on the set of a cavalier film he has a part in. He is not badly hurt - its just typical male syndrome of thinking that he is more ill than anyone else has ever been in the history of the world. Well, I'm afraid that with a newborn baby on my hands, Daniel can mope around the house all he wants but he is going to get very little attention!

About a week ago, the day before I went into labour with Silas, my parents thought it was a good time to break the news to me: I've got a half-sister. Apparently my dad had no idea of her existence. Back when I was about two years old, my parents had a huge row and ended up separating. A few months into the separation, my dad began dating a woman. Some time later he and my mum made up and recomposed their marriage. My mum knew Dad had been seeing other women during their time-out, but she had no problem with it because they were, well, separated. What they didn't know is that this woman had become pregnant and given birth to a girl, my father's daughter. The girl is twenty years old now. Her mother recently died after a long and painful illness, and told her the name of her until then unknown father before passing away. This was a couple of months ago. She found my (and her) father, explained the situation and got a DNA test to make sure she had found the right man. My parents are still gobsmacked, but apparently the girl is very nice and they're warming up to her. I'll be meeting her as soon as I recover from giving birth!

John meets his father for the first time in his life. Why, and what happens?
John and I are thrilled to announce the arrival of our first child, a son, we've named James William! James came into the world happy and healthy, weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces; 19 1/2 inches long. His arrival was a special one for John, particuarly, who had recently met his own father for the first time.
John's father wasn't present in his life throughout his childhood, and he was raised by his mother and stepfather (whom he considers to be his father). However, curiousity got the best of him as an adult, when he found he would be having a child of his own, and so he wanted to meet him. William own a big company which have offices all around the world. Two years ago he decided that he wanted an office in Spain to and last year everything were almost done. We decided to move there to get things started.
Only four months after we had moved I found out that we were expecting! We were so happy! Later during the pregnancy we found out that it was a girl. William hoped for it to be a boy so he can inherit William's company when he gets older. But it didn't really matter. William, and I of course, was happier then ever before!

Dave and I had been married for about a year and a half when we found out we were expecting. We were so excited, but we got the shock of our lives when we found out that we were having THREE babies! Our initial reaction was disbelief. We were certain that someone had made a mistake. When we realized we really were having triplets, our initial reaction was concern, because we knew how high the risks were. It was a very stressful pregnancy, especially being my first, but we got through it with a lot of positive thinking and support from friends and family. We were very fortunate to have three relatively healthy babies.
Before we found out we were having triplets, we had picked out one girl's name: Trudy Abigail, after my mother and David's mother. We know Trudy is a little dated, but I kind of like the retro feel of it, and it's better than yet another Madison or Emily! After a lot of discussion, we settled on Rachel Anne and Rebecca Janine for the other two girls. Rachel has been my favorite girl's name for as long as I can remember, and the rest are family names.
Going so quickly from being a family of two to a family of five has been a huge adjustment for us both, but we're already discussing the possibility of having more kids (when the girls are a little bit older, of course). We both come from big families, so we both want a lot of children.

There was a nasty storm and a tree fell on your house, causing the roof to collapse! Is everyone alright? What happens?
Dear all,
I'm just writing a quick note to thank you all for the extreme kindness you showed after the storm. We've never felt so loved before and it was really overwhelming; the food, furnuture and clothing have been put to good use but I'd like to especially thank everyone who gave us photos - the one thing I had really dreaded losing.
Nathan and I are doing fine now. We were both at home when the tree fell and my legs were crushed beneath some rubble whilst Nate suffered a collapsed lung. It was a petrifying experience but my legs are fully functioning now and Nathan is finally out of hospital thanks to the work of the magnificent doctors and nurses working around the clock.
Sadly however, the house didn't fair so well. Building control has deemed the place a danger and we're having to demolish it, which is particularily heartbreaking as Johnny and his brothers (Adam, Jay and Andrew) put so much hard work into building it. We were able to salvage some parts and luckily have received a huge payout from our insurance company and compensation from the council who should have removed the tree years ago. Currently we're living with my parents which has been a great help as I haven't been on my feet. We're going to build an entire new house on the site and work should hopefully be finished this time next year, again all the boys are going to chip in - we've hired Adam as a brickie, Jay as a plumber and Andrew as an electrician, despite them all having day jobs as well! Thanks very much boys, and Ada, Lynn and Hazel - I apologise for stealing so much of your husbands' time!
