The Powells had an uneventful four years after their sudden move and settled into their new home. The kids started new schools and made new friends; Winnie and Magda even started dating. Recently Miriam discovered she was pregnant. She was preparing for her new little one, when Magda told her that she too was pregnant. Miriam was furious, especially when she found out that Winnie had known about it before. Andy was a bit calmer, reminding Miriam that she wasn't that much older when Winnie and Magda were born. There were a few frosty weeks during which Magda moved in with her boyfriend, Tony, then Miriam began to get excited about her first grandchild, and discovered just how determined Magda was to be a good mother. When Miriam's son Duncan was born, Magda got to see her little brother's first weeks and helped to care for him, building her confidence in her own mothering skills. She gave birth 3 weeks later to Holly, and she and Tony are very caring parents to her.
