Yesenia and Elias first met 3 years ago when they were both aspiring chefs, attending the California School of Culinary Arts. Elias happened to be Yesenia roomate (Demetria's) brother. Demetria set the two up on a date as she knew the two had a lot in common and would get along well. Elias and Yesenia agreed to go and found that they got along great with each other. They continued to date for awhile after that and soon fell in love. Elias proposed to Yesenia while the couple were vacationing in Mexico City, the birthplace of Yesenia. The two of them got married a year later on a beach in the Mayan Riviera, a small ceremony with only a few close friends.
