Trenton got into the FBI two years ago. Unfortunately, he was seriously injured in the line of duty a few months ago, and he now has a permanent limp. He has accepted a desk job for the time being, but he still wants to get back into the action.
Meanwhile, he and Jace have adopted another son. Carlos Sean, originally just Carlos, was born two months after his mother and grandmother illegally immigrated to the US. One of Trenton's old buddies from the NYCPD found him after his mother died from complications from the birth. His grandmother was unable to care for him on her own. Trenton's friend called Trenton and Jace to ask if they would like to adopt another son, and the rest, as they say, is history.
