Trenton and Jace have been living and working in New York City for three years now. Trenton is a police officer who hopes to make it into the FBI, and Jace is a lawyer with a firm that specializes in adoption cases made by homosexual couples. With Trenton's dangerous job, neither of them ever considered adopting a child themselves.
Then Trenton and his partner, a young woman named Cassie Wright, uncovered a ring of kidnappers who had been taking young babies from hospitals and selling them to rich parents. Trenton and Cassie were undercover for six months to gather the evidence needed to make a case. During that time, Trenton met an infant boy, named Nicholas Lee by his father, who was being held for three months before his "adoption" because his buyers were in the middle of a massive remodeling project. Nicholas had been born over a month prematurely, and his mother had died during the birth. While Nicholas was being held, Trenton fell in love with him without realizing it. After the operation was brought down, Trenton took Nicholas from his buyers personally and tried to find his father. Unfortunately, Nicholas's father was in prison by that time - he had been a part of the kidnapping ring!
Nicholas went into foster care, and Trenton asked Jace if they could adopt him. Jace just smirked and told him he'd called his partner as soon as Trenton hung up the phone that morning. The papers were ready, and the hearing was set for one week from that date.
Jace's partner won the case easily, and Nicholas went home with Trenton and Jace that night, renamed Nicholas Baltazar Wayland. Nicholas is a happy, healthy baby who turned one year old just yesterday. He can be a bit of a handful, but to Trenton and Jace, he's their little miracle.

Ah, I missed that ..
If it's OK with youyour random event could be that Nicholas bio mother had a difficult birth?
And for the next rounds, you can change your DD or DS's to adopted children if you want to.
