When Alanna was raped, she was also beaten up. Obviously, she had to tell Keir as she was taken to hospital. They have mutually decided to abort the baby, not because it wasn't Keir's and he may treat it differently, but because it would be a constant reminder of her incident. Alanna has fully recovered now and found that telling her mother made it a lot easier.
