This is my son: James Vincent, nn Jamie.

You Think: He does! James Vincent is a very, very strong name, and Jamie is a fantastic nickname for his youth. And if he wants a different name when he's older, he can switch. Four stars! ;)
This is my son: Gilbert Blythe, nn Gil.
You Say: Hello, Gil.
You Think: Gilbert, horrible association. Blythe, great association. But all together it's a little too weird.
This is my daugther: Claire Antoinette.

You Think: I hate the name Claire. I hate the name Claire. I hate the name Claire. I hate the name Claire. I hate the name Claire.
