A lot's been going on around here, what with all of the excitement surrounding the arrival of our first child, a healthy baby boy! In addition, I was recently faced with a huge decision - I was offered an amazing part in Sofia Coppola's latest film, a piece set in the 1950s.. and I was also offered a role in a remake of 'Casablanca,' my all-time favorite movie, starring opposite Ben Affleck.
It was a tough choice, but I ultimately chose the Sofia Coppola film - I admire her work enormously, and felt like it was a good artistic and emotional challenge for me. However, the biggest draw was the fact that all the filming will take place here in California.. for the 'Casablanca' project, there would be lots of travel involved. I was sad to pass up that opportunity, but right now, it's more important for me to be close to my baby son and my husband.
