You say: "What a lovely name."
You think: See above, with "and an even better nn Lily / Lilly."
"This is my son, Harper."
You say: "That's an unusual name."
You think: "Your *son?!* Girls' name, Girls' name!" LoL
"This is Bella, my daughter."
You say: "What a lovely name. Very feminine."
You think: As a nn for Isabella / Gabriella, etc. that's great. On it's own ... It's so ... Soap opera-ish.
"Here's my daughter, Claudia."
You say: "What an interesting choice."
You think: Not a bad name, but I personally prefer Claudette.
