Make a family, Part 5
Tell your friends and family about a big event that happened to one of your children. It could be anywhere from a funny story about a thunderstorm, a bad dream someone had, a vacation, or a serious event like death. Use your imagination, and try to tie it in with what you've already written. Twist:
Your oldest child(ren) must be at least twice the age of the triplets at the time of the event. Remember, even though my older son is five years older than the triplets, your triplets could be born a year after your oldest child(ren). Dear friends and family:Tiger is now fourteen, and the triplets are nine. For the past few years, we've had experiences with Tiger's brittle bones. He's been in wheelchairs, on crutches, wearing braces. But now Tiger has broken his right leg in five places while skiing. He had surgery to straighten out his leg and put in metal plates and nails, and now has a cast from his toes to his hips. He'll be incased in several different casts for the next six months, and I'm not sure he will be able to deal with it. If anyone has any experience with being cooped up and disabled for so long, please let us know. Love,
Hannah, Chris,
Tiger (and his fiberglass encased leg), Katrin, Myra, Sam

Maggie is now 6 and Abigail, Josh and Jon are 2. Brian bought a boat and we went on our first trip with the new boat this past weekend. What an experience! I had imagined relaxing boat rides into the sunset. The trip was anything but! Between Josh leaning over the edge of the boat, Abigail crying anytime she saw a fish and Jon trying to throw things overboard, I don't think I sat down once! Maggie caught a fish though so the day was very exciting for her. Me and Brian were very proud. Brian who not only had to steer the boat but also helped me control the hooligans says until the kids are older only one can come on at a time.

Hello friends and family.Sweet little Troy is better than we had hoped! We put him in a weekend clinic where they help children with learning differences, and he is pulling ahead of the pack. He's a lot calmer than he used to be, and he's doing more on his own. He even read a book with me last night! We didn't think that medication was the best option for Troy's ADHD and we were right. Troy just need extra motivation, and now that he's five it getting easier. Mikhail, Dean and Kurt are also doing well. I attached a picture of them from the park yesterday.

Dear family and friends - Well, we have some sad news. Michael Jordan, the bunny from Piper, Sophia, and Claire's grade, has passed away. When I picked the girls up from school last Monday they were visably upset. I asked them what was wrong. Claire kept wiping her eyes and mumbling and Piper was bawling. Finally, Sophia handed me a note that explained everything. Poor girls, this is the first time they've had to really deal with death. Other than that traumatic event, everything is great. Piper Isabella, Sophia Kate and Claire Lorelei are 7 years old and in the second grade. Grace Willow, Kennedy Winter and Joseph Prior are 11 years old and in the 6th grade. Joseph has been asked to play on the 7th grade basketball team and is enjoying that quite a lot. Grace and Kennedy are looking forward to cheerleading tryouts for next year. All 3 of our older kids are in the choir and Kennedy plays flute in the band.Love,
Chelsea and Chase

Isaiah & Estella just celebrated their 10th birthday. The party started off great but eventually went down hill. Here's the story...After Izzy & Stella's friends arrived it was a mad house! I was hurrying up with the cake and Colin was busy wrapping the gifts that were put off last minute. My sister Tracey and Colin's sister Moira were supervising the children (A.K.A being manhandled by them) when Gabriel said he needed to go to the bathroom. Moira took him to the bathroom while she waited for him in the living room. As she was waiting, precious, little 5-year-old Gabe decided to shove as much toilet paper down the toilet as he possibly could until we were left with just the one roll. Now, why would he do that you asked? For the simple shock value I guess. Poor, Colin spent the better half of the party, playing plumber rather than party host while Gabe spent the better half of the party in his room. After an hour and a half of the kids playing outside we finally got to the cutting of the cake. While at the table Juliet got her hair pulled by her cousin, Aliyah, and Everett agitated the situation by kicking Aliyah. So now we have two little girls with a huge lung capacity screaming till the could scream no more. The cutting of the cake was put off because I was pondering if these already out of control kids should be given any sugar. I hired my brother Mike, for reinforcements and he finally settled the kids down. We finally had cake with nothing less than a minor food fight. Time for presents! After Isaiah and Stella received their gifts from their family Colin’s 70-year-old grandmother, Eileen, thought they turned five rather than ten and gave them kindergarten word games. I made Isaiah and Estella graciously accept them to spare any hurt feelings.

Hi everyone,Phew, I'm glad Marks got a day off today so he can take care of the kids so I can sit down and catch you all up. Harry and Charlie are 7 now and have started school. Everything was going really well until a few days ago. Harry hasn't grown out of his protectivness toward Charlie and he saw one of the other boys in their class picking on her, pulling her hair and kicking sand at her etc. Anyway, Charlie was in tears so Harry stepped in. The other boy then started picking on Harry, just being a bully but Harry wasn't having it and hit him. I'm proud of Harry for sticking up for his sister and standing up for himself, but Mark and I have had to have a serious discussion about ways he can solve problems without violence. I think Charlies a wee bit starstruck by her heroic brother, shes been following him around ever since! The triplets are 3 now and just started kindy. I've had to pull out those old coloured bracelets i used when they were babies so that their teachers can tell them apart! They look like Harry and Charlie too, with brown hair and blue eyes, they're adorable!Love lots

hello to all You have just got to hear this... i can not believe it myself... We were at church and the Pastor asked in his sermon if anyone loved their Lord and like a bunch of robots my 5 oldest kids stood and shouted WE LOVE OUR LORD BROTHER BRANDON!!!! I did not know what to do but stand with them and say the same and soon the whole congregation was doing the same. I never had a better laugh after church that day.Emma asked me if I were upset with them and all I could do was say no hunny I can never be upset with you for saying that. That evening was the youth choir and band concert at the church and the kids could not wait to perform they have been practicing day and night and Elizabeth is singing a solo with her brother and sis doing the back up instuments and vocals. If you can make it please do I know the kids would love to see their Granny and Gramps!Love

Hello,Bad news on the home front, unfortunately. The triplets' fifth birthday went over quite well--Jannie, Ren, and Sharon each had two school friends over and we played lots of fun games in the backyard. (That's not the bad news, mind; that's quite good, since Jannie's been rather sickish lately.)Len's been having some trouble at school, though. It's frightening to me, to think of what my son's been going through. Some other boys were beating him up quite terribly, and he never said a word about it until he came home with a blackened eye. I'll never understand what drives eleven year olds to be so violent. I had troubles at that age, too, but it was never to that extent. We've been trying to get to the bottom of why it's been happening, but Pelly and I aren't getting much out of Lenny. He says it's not a big deal--something of a sign that it really is. We'll be working on this for a while, I think.Pray for us. I hope things are going well 'round your place.Love,
Aurie, Pelly, Len, Jannie, Ren, and Sharon

Dear friends,We've had to see a neurosurgeon for Claire. She's been having very severe headaches and it's due to her sudden growth spurt (which is normal for a growing 10 year old). She had to go back and have her shunt replaced. it's so sad seeeing her beautiful thick brown hair shaved, but we're trying to keep a happy face for her, but my heart breaks all the time.
My three boys are just turning five and aren't realizing what is happening to Claire besides that she suddenly is wearing a little pink flower cap. They're confused but not concerned. I'm glad at least some of the family is blissfully unaware.Love,
Sam

Hi all!
Wow what a day we had yesterday. Aiden who is now eight fell and broke his arm at the pool. He was running with his friend Adam (even though I had told them both to stop running eight times) and fell hitting his arm on the stairs on the side of the pool. So we took him to the hospital and he got a cast but while we were there Hannah, Scarlett, and Adaleigh (who are now 4) were horrible. They were still in wet bathing suets and were hungrey sicne we left the pool right before lunch. I was by myself and had Aiden to look after, plus Adam, Hannah, Scarlett, and Adaleigh. Needless to say when we got home the only thing I wanted to do was lie down.
Aiden is fine now and loves showing off his cast. He would apreciate cards if you would send them to him.
Love and Miss you all.Loe always,
Nikki :)

Dear everybody,We would like to announce Haven beginning violin lessons! It took hard lobbying on Daddy's part, because dear Haven is only four and Mummy doens't like violins all that much, but with encouragement from Grandma Carter, the motion passed. I still can't believe Haven is old enough to hold that thing! Her teacher says she's doing well. We'll invite you all to her recital!Love,
The CartersLeah, John, Haven, Isaac, Isaiah, and Susan
