Making a Family - Step 5
I'm glad so many people were interested! Hopefully, you guys still are for the next round:
All of your children are moving up in school. One of your children either turns out to be a very gifted musician or has a passion for science - detail that child's concert/science project. Either one of your pets has a litter or something event of your choice happens to your family that has nothing to do with a new baby.

Hi everyone! Great news for you!
Remember how we all knew Dylan bucked the trend by not being particularly creative? Well I have to say I've never been more proud of him than I was today. I went to pick him and Ben up from school and he came rushing out of class with the biggest smile on his face. When I asked why he showed me the certificate he'd been given for his science project on the insects in the school playing field. Then his teacher Miss Clarkson came out of the room and told me that he'd got full marks for the project! It's such a shock because nobody in our family has ever had such an aptitude for science, and he absolutely shines at maths as well.
Oh yes, and there's another mummy in our house now. We'd noticed that for the last few weeks Daisy was getting a bit podgy, then the other night Ben woke up and found she wasn't sleeping on his feet like she normally does. So he went downstairs and found her lying in the cupboard under the stairs surrounded by four little kittens! They have tabby and white fur like their mum and we've found out that they're all boys. Each of us picked a name for one kitten - they're called Frodo, Ant, Tiger and Milo.

Well. I guess I shouldn't be too suprised that my Augustus has turned out to be a scientific genius. He has been invited to spend a year abroad in America as an exchange student. Plus, the best news of all is that we get to go with him. I think this will be a good way for Thelonous to improve his English skills & see where I was born & raised. I'm really hoping that we'll be near St.Louis, Missouri where my family lives. I don't remember the last time any of them have come to visit us.
Happy Holidays, Everyone!
Let's see Josh (now 12) entered a science concert in October. He did a project on electromagnets. He came in thrid place. I, the science dunce, was very proud. Brian was excited about the project. He, which is where Josh got his love for science, helped JOsh but Josh did most of the work. JOsh is still playing basketball and baseball. He also is usually on the honor roll.
Abigail (now 5) is still taking ballet. She started taking piano lessons in Sept. She also loves to sing but unfortunatly takes after both of her tone deaf parents. She wants to play softball in the spring. Abigail loves going to school to see all her friends. The ones that don't change day to day are Grace, Sadie, Elise, Owen and Jamison.
We went on a Europe vacation this past summer. We visited Rome, Italy, Switzerland (and saw where Brian's parents used to live), England, Ireland, and Vienna. We were gone for two and half weeks. Josh for the most part was really excited about it and loved it. Abigail was bored a lot and often complained that her feet hurt. Brian got a workout by carrying her a lot.

Dear family and friends,
Amalia has shown a passion for science and entered the fifth grade science fair. Her project (concerning magnets and chemistry, that I cannot grasp the concept of, no matter how many times she has explained it to me,) won first place, and she is consistently getting 100% on every science test. She is doing wonderfully.
Bella is in the school's chorus and has an amazing voice. She has tried out for the musical, landing the lead role! We are all very excited.
Thunder has found a female cat, and we've brought it in! We're expecting kittens soon.
Love,
Hannah, Chris,
Amalia, Bella, Gabe,
Grandma Audrey, Grandpa Jack,
Thunder, Midnight (and fetuses)

Daphne, 14 (first year of high school)
Violet, 11 (first year of middle school)
(Nana Lida and Grampa George)
Recently Violet entered a nationwide concert contest in which you send an essay and reccomendations about your musical ability. She got chosen to play the cello in a prestigous orchestra at the Opera House in Sydney, Australia. The family took a three week vacation and we had an absolute blast. Violet did a wonderful job and got a certificate and statue for being in the concert.
When we got home from Sydney, we found out that our dog Enid was expecting a litter. She had six gorgeous spaniel puppies, which we named Ramona, Malcolm, Pietro, Dashiell, Tanith, and Greta. We decided to keep Ramona, but we had to sell the rest. Fortunately, we knew all of the people the puppies went to and see them regularly.

Hello to all
It has been such a wonderful life with my kiddos!! I have two blessings to report to you who do not know .... Hermione Prudence such a gifted child ... you know she has been playing the cello and piano since she was 4, well this year in school they are holding a Christmas concert and Hermione has the Lead solo for Silent Night my favorite carol. They want her to do it on the piano so she has been practicing day and night. We went shopping for a dress and she found a lovely red velvet Knee length that just brings our those eyes of hers.
To our surprise the boys have been keeping another stray in the shed out back and it is a girl and her and Elrond met up and now there are puppies every where .. since I am a softy I let them keep her and her 5 pups. The mommma dog has a name ... Eowyn and the pups are Frodo,Merry, Pippin, SamWise and Gimli.... what a combanation you think ... LOL I have the Lord of the Rings playing out in my back yard...
We have been struggling with money here lately and my husband asked for a raise 3 months ago.... Well he went to work this morning like usual and thinking he might give his notice and to his surprise a check was in his locker for back pay because the computer never entered his 2.00 raise!!! It sure did come in handy for the holidays... now I can pay bills and buy my kiddos presents.

Wow, so much to tell you all. J.J. and Pacey turned 5 this past March and are in kindergarten this year. Wyatt and Piper are looking forward to their 10th birthday on Christmas. They are in the 4th grade this year. Grace is 13 years old and in the 8th grade. Grace's music teacher called us a week ago to let us know that the results of her violin evaluation are in. She told us that Grace's playing is at a level most people don't achieve until they've been playing for 20 years! and Grace has only been playing for 9. We are extremely proud. She performed at the student recital yesterday and was the only student to get a standing ovation. We recently won a trip to Disney World and we are all so excited. It will be our first trip there as a family.
Love you all,
Chelsea
