It is a form of Agnes.
After doing some searching I found out that it is Czech in origin, meaning "pure." It is an ethnic variant of Agniezka, though. Thanks!

Just being pedantic - the actual meaning of Agnes / Agnieszka / Anezka is "chaste" rather than "pure" (very similar, but a slight difference in meaning!)My grandfather grew up in Czechoslovakia :-)
