Please! Anyone!
I need some help finding the origin of my first name, which I was told was an old family name. Have not found it on this site. My surname is Welsh and I do know that LYNN is Welsh for "lake" and that DELL is a "small wooded valley". However, this part of my name is pronounced "dol". Anyone know? Thanks in advance~

On first glance, it sounds as though you got the meaning of your name correct. However, if you're looking for a stricly Welsh etymology of your name, then the "-dell" part of your name could be a form of the Welsh feminine name "Del", meaning "pretty". The "Lynn" part of your name may mean either "lake", "waterfall", or it could even be a form of the Welsh name "Glyn", meaning "a vale".
