I think it's Greek and means "big head". Wasn't that the name of Alexander the Great's horse?

Bucefalos, Bucepahlos is a variant of "bicephalos" that is double-headed... as I understand it... Yet I suppose it's not akin to th name in question
Bucephalos isn't a variant. It comes from "ox-head", referring to a mark on the horse's forehead.
