Hi Minouck (this is odd!),
I'm also Dutch and my mother says that she named me after someone she read about in a book. That woman seemed to be a "hertogin" (don't know the word in English, sorry), who lived in France. However, nobody that I ever met in France had heard of Minouck. They couldn't even pronounce my name right!
I'm a bit curious about the date/year you were born, since it seems that at least one girl was named after me (when I was 2 years old). I was born on March 24, 1970.
