The Greek name Gregorios (new Greek Grigorios, Grigoris) approximately means "rapid".
Actually, Gligor- is the variant of Grigor- in many Greek and Slavic local dialects throughout the Balkans.
As Ivayla wrote, the variant Gligor is officially accepted in FYROM only. In the other countries, that variant is considered just as an odd pronunciation.
