i have a penpal, he's surname is larsen, my brother says it must be pronounced [lar-sh-en] because of the [r], but i think the -sen ending is stonger. what do you think about it?
thanks! katharina

it's pronounced LAR-sen (without the 'sh' sound). it is one of the most common Danish surnames probably and it means 'son of
Lars
'.
