Meaning of Schnuckenack
Hi! Can anybody help me finding the meaning of the name Schnuckenack? It´s a male name, a famous person who wore it was Schnuckenack Reinhardt, a gypsy violinist (the cousin of the famous guitar-player Django Reinhardt). Thanx for your help!

On the German Wikipedia site someone on the discussion page says that it was derived from schuker nak which means "pretty nose" (in Romani?) No idea wether that's true or speculation.
Auf allen meinen Platten und CDs steht er als Schnuckenack Reinhardt. Schnuckenack kommt von schuker nak, was soviel wie schöne Nase heißt. Im Laufe der Zeit wurde daraus Schnuckenack. Danke!:-)
I tried to find *1* other person than the mentioned Mr. Reinhardt that also has this name, and I failed. All pages with "Schnuckenack" that I could find with Google either mentioned him, or else were things (not persons) with this name, e.g. a restaurant.
I speculate (other people on this forum may forgive me...) that Schnuckenack could be sort of a nickname that became the name that Mr. Reinhardt used like his real name.

I also guessed so, but he was a Rom and maybe this name was common. I also tried to find sth. with google, but I had the same results as you. thanx for your help!
