typing levein lyons into google came up with several message boards [unfortunately they have been archived].
levein lyons was my 2 x gt grandfather. as per his marriage certificate, he married sarah turner at the register office, bethnal green on 18 march 1850. his occupation was cabinetmaker. the couple were living at 7 carr street limehouse at the time of the marriage. family folklore has always insisted part of the family were jewish. it may be that levein and sarah had already been married in his local synagogue and had a civil ceremony later for sarah's family?
his father was shown as moses lyons and his occupation was that of a merchant. census records show that levein was born in boston, lincs.
his son, also levein, was born 29th may 1848 also at 7 carr street.
would appreciate any further information pertaining to this family.
