My name is Shanaaz and i would really like to know what the meaning of the name raziyaan meens. i named my daughter without realizeing what the meaning of the name is, and today every body that knows my daughter want's to know what's the meaning of her name. I would really appreciate it if you could help me.
Raziyaan is a girls name, someone told me it is either a Hindu or a Indian name but i have searched every were and still got no anser. Please help!!! Thank you

I do not think they are Hindu names ...
Rather Raziyaan reminds me of the Seljuk (Turkish) Sultana جلالت رضیہ الدین, Jalâlat ud-Dîn Raziyâ, who, as a compromize candidate became a ruler of the mamluk sultanate from 1236/7 to 1240/1, and is remembered as the first woman ruler of an important political entity in India. I believe the name is Arabic in origin (probably Rad.iya) and may mean something like pleased. Though she is known as Raziya Sultana in history, she was a Sultan, not the wife of one!
I do not know any Arabic nor Persian, except for borrowings into Hindi/Urdu, but Shanaaz may be Shah (ruler) + naaz (pride), usually referring to his beloved queen.
I have quite commonly heard both Shahnaaz and Raziya as names amongst Indian muslims.
