ORIGIN
My question is why is "Tuesday" acceptable as a first name but not other days of the week. What is the origin?? Why not Sunday or Thursday or Friday?

Wednesday is accepted too, but I wouldn't use it after the
Adam's family. hehe.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday have all been used for first names, although they have never been very common. I think Sunday has been more common than the other two, though.
I would guess that Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday have never been used much simply because they're not as pretty-sounding.
Adding: Monday is in the database so it is also recognised as a first name.

There was a film actress called Tuesday Weld - no idea when or what she appeared in, butapparently her actual given name was Susan, and when she was very small she couldn't pronounce it; the closest she could get was Tuesday, and the nickname stuck.
One could stretch things a bit and regard Dominic as a Sunday name; also Freya for Friday. And I know a woman here in South Africa whose given name is Blandina but she's mostly known as Sondo because she was born on a Sunday and that's what Sunday is in Northern Sotho. Come to think of it, I also know an Afrikaans woman named Luna ...

Tuesday is derived from the name of the ancient Teutonic deity Tiwaz(identified with the Roman Mars - hence Tiwesdae is related to the Latin "dies Martis" from which the French word for Tuesday, Mardi, is derived. Tiwaz itseld is related to the Latin Deus and the Greek Dias (Zeus) -- ah, this little Pagan retrospective sho' felt good, but I digress.
Now as far Tuesdayt being acceptable, why not, go for it! After all, Frank Zappa named his kids Dweezil and Moon Unit :)
