Message: "Caruso" - Behind the Name

In a game on the game board there was a namebank with the name Caruso in it. Does anybody know what it means and where it comes from. It was listed as male.

It is an Italian surname that according to Behind the Surname means "boy" or "shop boy" in Southern Italy.
