A question about Janus
I have a kitten that we have named Janus because of the Roman god. The only problem is that she is a girl, and Janus is a male name. We don't want to spell it Janice because that comes from a different name.
I know that with many Roman names there is a masculine and a feminine form. Claudius & Claudia, Augustus & Augusta, Julius & Julia, etc. So, my question is, is there a female form of Janus? Jania is not on here, but I was wondering if that or a similar name would be correct.
Thank you!

Janus is a gender neutral name.
Edit: oh damn this was posted 13 years ago
I believe it can be a gender neutral name so you’re good
The female form of Janus is Jana.
It seems that it really existed as a name. E.g. see here (right column of the scanned page, around middle down):

Thank you! I had looked up Jana here on BtN, but it only says that it is from Jan, so I wasn't sure. Thanks. : -)
