It is my guess that you actually pronouce it David because of these reasons:

the "a" is pronouced like an "e" with an accent on it. so it sounds like "ay"
the "b" and "h" together sound like "v"
the "dh" at the end sounds like "d"
so it sounds like Dayvid which is the same as David.
I know this because I am studying Gaelic
