Sadie
I'm not sure whether there would be statistics on this but how common is it for a Sarah to use the pet form Sadie?

Thanks. Sarah/Sara is just such a short name that really it doesn't need a pet name... although I have met Sadies who were solely Sadies...

Not a problemI think Sadie/Sally were used as nicknames more often in the past than now - like Jack was for John. The nicknames have become established names.

They are used less often now because it's far less common for children to be given their parents' names. Nicknames like Sally and Sadie were meant to distinguish Sarah-the-mother from Sarah-the-daughter. That's rarely necessary these days.:-)
