I do not watch Dark Angel in fact I do not even know what it is, but I guess that it is some kind of fiction. This means that the names do not have to mean anything, since they may have been constructed for the occation. Not that that makes the the fiction better or worse of course.
Yet, let me do a guess. Jondy is not a real name in itself, but could it be a contraction of two names? Why indeed not. The DJ who co-wrote, produced, and recorded the soundtrack to the Quake video game add-on known as Shrak was really called John David , but over time his fans made that into Jondy.
So my guess is that since jondy is no real name it is a contracted form of John David . Both John and David are real names.
