Does anyone know the origin of the name Neko?

My guess is that this is a stage name, not her original birth name. It may well be derived from the Japanese word for cat, possibly through the sculptural "good luck charm" character Maneki Neko -- that would somewhat fit the name of one of the bands she was in, Maow. But one would have to get full infomation from her to make sure. One could always ask her, but the obvious tongue-in-cheek nature of her own website makes me wonder if she would really tell you the true story or not.

Well 'neko' means cat in Japanese, but that's pronounced "NEH-koh". Other than that, I have no idea... sorry!
