My brother sent me the following trivia question: What percent of English names (I'm assuming both given and surname) are derived from the names of animals? The answer choice ranges from 1% to 8%. Anyone have any knowledge of this? Thanks.

I have in my database 3065 given names with the language "English" (meaning "known and used in countries where English is spoken"). 173 of them are somehow connected to animals through their origin/meaning.
That's around 5.6% then.
