Heed the Dragonlance!

Margret Weiss and Tracy Hickman have written a series of books called Dragonlance.
TANIS was a central character in these books. He was Half elf and half man. He tended to fancy sensitive elvish women though, so perhaps he had a few more ounces of elf in him than had of man.

I myself have only read the old material covering the time from the founding of the adventure party and until Raistlin... Well I shall not reveal what the end is but let me say it is of immortal proportions!
I started on some of the "Dragonlance heros", but never went very far for I felt that the tale they had to tell had been told in the old material. The latter material appeared to me to be more of the same and nothing new, so to speak. But the old material was great and you should take a look at it if interested in what associations a rather large group of fantasy readers get hearing the name Tanis.
