Does anyone know the origin of the name Charlize? Was it simply invented by the actress Charlize Theron's parents, or did it exist before her? If it did exist previously, does anyone know it's ethnic origin? Thanks :)

Hey, Kylie. Long time, no see....

I would guess that the name "Charlize" (pronounced "Shar-leez") is a French feminine variation of the name "Charles", since Charlize Theron's French father's name was Charles.
