I am a teacher and am using this website for students to look up the meaning of their names. However, I cannot find anything for my Samoan student, Tuiva (male). I tried using the Hawaiian page but nothing was close. Perhaps you can give me some suggestions on where to look. Thank you, Tim

In Hawaiian culture, most given names are either formed from normal words in the Hawaiian language or are tranliterations into Hawaiian of "Western" names, such as Kimo for James or Jim. Perhaps as another Polynesian culture Samoan has similar customs. So the first thing I would do is simply as this child's parents if they named him Tuiva because it is a word in the Samoan language that had a personal meaning for them.
