Rhadamanthus
Does anyone have an etymology for the name "Rhadamanthus"? I know it's a deity from Greek mythology, and Rhadamanthine is derived from that word, but can't find a single clue as to what the name "means".
I've also seen it spelled Rhadamanthys.

Rhadamanthus is etymologically related to the Greek words:
"rhadamos": sprout or branch,
and,
"anthos": blossom or flower.
It is interesting to note that the flower rose is also related etymologically to "rhodamos".

PS
I would also like to point out that offshoots (pun not intended) of "rhadamos," such as "rhadinos," mean "willowy, lithe, lissome." This would give an extra metaphorical dimension to the name Rhadamanthys.
