What's the correct pronunciation of Leif? I imagine it differs depending on the different Scandinavian languages ... I normally hear "lafe", which I like, but some sources suggest "life" or even "leaf". Hmm ...

Hi Elinor,The Swedish pronunciation is "lafe", the Danish pronunciation is "life" (no English soft "L" in both languages). In Norway it depends on the dialect - I've heard both versions there.Regards, Satu

Hmm... I'd ask my dad, but he isn't here right now. I know at school we pronounce it Leaf as in Leif (Leaf) Erikson. Umm... I know alittle boy whose name is Leif, and they pronounce it Lafe. So Im not sure, it would depend on the country, and if your not in a Scandinavian country, then it would be whichever you prefer I suppose.
