I catched the movie "GO" on TV and one of the main characters is called Ronna.

It got me thinking, and kinda liking it too, if it is a nn for Veronica.

I've never heard Ronna as a nickname for Veronica, but its sounds plausible to me. The Veronica I know has gone by Vica, which I think is nice.

I knew a Ronna who was named after her father, Ronald.

I knew a Ronna who was actually Ronalda, a Donna who was actually Donalda, and a Ronnie who was actually Veronica. But there isn't a rule about it; I've also known a Veronica who went by Vera.
