My name is Emily and sometimes I am called Em. Peopel may choose whatever nae they liek for their children. Nicknames can be for anything. Liek you said- how does dick come from richard and how does jack come from john? No one knows. Why can;t mimi coem from Emily or Amelia ?

I didnt say the couldnt! I just said that just because it doesnt sound like it should come from it doesnt mean people cant have that nic name. Nic names are just that, they dont have to come from the name like Amelia ,SNL ,me myself and I, and you isisted! That is all I was saying! Also I wouldnt be proud to have a nic name like MIMI . I would rather use Amelia before Mimi , but each to there own!
