Thorhalla
I came across these female names in a fictional story on the internet - Thorhalla and Thorfinna. I assume they are of Scandanavian origin due to the Thor.
What do they mean? Are they used anymore? Is the Thor part pronounced with the H or is is silent?

In Sweden they are not used and I doubt they are used in Norway or Demnark. I've never heard them, although Torfinn is used as a male name (in Norway, I think).
Thor is the name of a god. Hall means "hall" or "flat rock" and "finn" probably means "a Finn; someone from Finland".
Thor is spelled Tor in Scandinavia and pr. TOOR (except in Iceland where it's spelled with a unique letter and pr. like th in "think", so Thor is pr. "thowr" in Iceland).
Short and sweet like Swedish summer....
