I have wondered for a long time about the origin of my uncles 2nd christian name.It was Bartalott.
He was English b 1912
I have searched rhe internet but couldn't come up with anything.

This is probably just a longer form of Bartlett, which was originally a "double diminutive" of Bart or Bartholomew in medieval England.

From what I can find it may be a form of a surname which is sometimes spelt Bartalot Barthelot Bartalote but I cant find any information as to its meaning
