Does anyone know where the name Alyn came from? I know that there is a small river in North Wales called the Alyn and it flows into the river
Dee
but that's about it. Thanks
#Alyn

It could be a variate of Alan/Allen.
Lynn
is Welsh for lake, so maybe the A is some kind of particle with meaning in welsh.

Well . . .
it's actually 'llyn' that is Welsh for lake -
Lynn
is a derivative - so that wouldn't make sense unless it was
Allyn
.
