Amazing column, thank you!
I didn't know Hilda was often featured in Japanese media. I wonder if it's viewed as a stereotypical European name, just like we see Sakura as stereotypically Japanese.

I didn't know that either (and I can't read the column), but Hilda transliterates very nicely into Japanese as
"Hiruda." Not too many English/Western names come across so well in Japanese.
