Re: Ivelisse & its meaning
Really not. Sadly most other name websites use "wishful" meanings that someone wanted a name to mean rather than an actual meaning related to the name. The name first appears as Yvelise in a 1923 Italian novel of the same name. It was translated into Spanish soon after, where the form Ivelisse became popular as result. Prior research by others here and family history confirms this source of the name in Puerto Rico. As for meaning it has been suggested the author combined Yve and Elise.
