What exactly does Conor/Connor mean?
Apperently it most likely meaning for Conor is “lover of the hounds” or something among those lines. However it apperently also probably means:“Desiring hound”“Helpful chief”Is it possible Conor means just one of these things if not all of them? Some suspect the “lover of the hounds” thing is British propaganda, but who knows."People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing all day."'*•.¸♡ Have a great day/night! ♡¸.•*' Rate my personal name list please :) https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/217493

Most Indo-European names are composed of two words placed together, though they may be so altered by the passage of time that the meaning can become obscure. Irish and Welsh names are descended from classical Celtic compounds that were used in antiquity. Conor looks as if it has evolved from the Celtic compound Cunoarus, composed of cuno- (dog) and arus (noble).
