hi, i am one of them, it is very old, purely Bulgarian, it means the female to be tall and beautiful,”; bor” in Bulgarian means pine tree. The male version of the name is Boris, another very old pure Bulgarian name. I am named after my grandfather Boris. We have Boris in our history since the first bulgarian empire, since 681 ( the year 681). Boris became also popular name internationally, where Boriana remains still popular in Bulgaria and some nearby countries. I hope my info was useful.
