I neither read nor speak Gaelic, but it sounds interesting if wolves and optimism are connected to each other in that language or at least
are closely related words.
I mean, all the places where I have been told tales of wolves it has been terrible tales, which I spare ye the retelling of.
I wonder if the Gaelic people had a wolf god too then.
That would make it easier to understand.

Also note that the Greek word for wolf, "Lukos" is derived from "lux" meaning "light".

Bad Celts! No Wolf God for you! Try the Germans or the Lithuanians or the Samoyed or the Comanche, maybe. The Celts mostly were stuck with the second string, like the Kale God or the Divine Digger of Ditches.
Cailean, however, appears to have been a water deity in ancient Gaul. A finely-carved statue of Cailean (depicted as a male figure with long flowing hair) and votive offerings were found in a former sacred spring outside Caiteau, near the headwaters of the River Rhone.
The "Caiteau Cailean" is one of the outstanding pre-Roman Celtic finds of this century.

More than just the Samoyeds and the Comanche had what Europeans and European Americans called (mistakenly) wolf gods. Most American Indian tribes have Wolf clans and Wolf Spirits.
If you want, I'll try to find some stories concerning Wolf (I'll even ask my American Indian Studies prfessor if he's familiar with any sources).
