If your Canadian male is Jewish, perhaps his name is a form of Manasseh, which you'll find in the database; it also appears as Menashe. If you assume that the -e at the end is silent (which I greatly doubt!), then Menosh could be close enough. Click on the hyperlinks, and good luck.
