I have a Dutch friend who's transitioned from female to male and he's chosen the name Jeen to replace his feminine given name (Beatrice). I'm not sure whether it's a Dutch variant of John or Jean but I'm curious to know, and I'm also a little uncertain of how to pronounce it. Would it be YEEn, like how most Dutch names beginning with J are pronounced, or JEEn, which I've heard a mutual British friend call him before?
