Feminine Usage of Ares In Catalonia, Spain
Is it possibly from a different source then the name of the god Ares, does anyone know? Perhaps something to do with Catalan Spanish or carry a different meaning? It was on the charts for a few years in Catalonia based on the sites data.

Yes, it is indeed from a different source. It refers to the Marian devotion at the sanctuary of Mare de Déu de les Ares ("Mother of God of the Ares"), which is located on the Catalan mountain pass of Coll d'Ares in the Pyrenees. Here is the sanctuary in question:

I didn't know about this and immediately though of the god, so it seemed a bit strange till I thought it would be in a different language.
