does anyone know the meaning of Segolene?
Can anyone help me and give me a hint as to the meaning of the french girl's name Segolene?

I asked this question on this board some time ago (using the name ISS), and this is what Miss Claire posted in response:
Ségolène (seh-goh-len), according to one of my names books, come from "segal", meaning "rye" in Celtic, or a French form of Sieglinde.
Well known in France since the first crusades (VIIIth century) - not talking about the famous, Papal ones, but the sucky, aborted ones. lol
